Eligible subscribers can link a Hulu profile to a Disney+ profile so that supported viewing information and saved titles appear in Disney+. Use the account with the email associated with Hulu, choose the intended profiles carefully, and check the result before changing or deleting anything.
This is a profile-linking task, not a way to buy Hulu or move every Hulu feature into Disney+. Some subscriptions and profiles are excluded, and the help guidance describes limits on information that carries across.
Check eligibility before searching for the button
Disney’s current guidance says eligible standalone Hulu arrangements can have profiles automatically saved or linked, while eligible bundles may offer a linking choice. A manual linking prompt is therefore not necessarily shown to everyone in the same way.
The documented exclusions include Hulu + Live TV arrangements, the Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max bundle, Hulu add-on situations, and kids or under-18 profiles. Check the latest official page and your exact account rather than assuming every bundle or adult household qualifies.
If you need live channels or recordings, use our Hulu + Live TV and Disney+ guide. Profile linking is not evidence that the full Live TV service or DVR has moved to Disney+.
Prepare the correct account and profile pair
Confirm the Hulu account email and the Disney+ login. Check which Hulu profile holds your watch history and My Stuff, then identify the Disney+ profile you want to use. Choosing a household member’s profile can make the result look incorrect even if the linking process worked.
Use a supported device and keep the Disney+ app current, or use Disney+ on the web. If the option is absent, first check eligibility and account identity. Do not immediately make another subscription or delete the existing profiles.
Before linking, note a few specific titles in Hulu’s Continue Watching and My Stuff. This gives you a practical way to compare the result. It does not need to be a complete archive of everything you have watched.
Follow the linking flow
- Sign in to Disney+ using the email associated with the Hulu subscription.
- Open the Hulu-profile linking option when offered.
- Select the Hulu profile you want to link.
- Choose an existing Disney+ profile or create a new one as the flow permits.
- Review and confirm the content-rating setting.
- Finish linking and open the resulting Disney+ profile.
Do not rush the rating step. A title can be unavailable to a selected profile because of content restrictions even when the subscription includes it. Setting the rating should be a deliberate choice for the viewer using the profile.
Understand what should transfer
Disney describes carrying most supported watch history, Continue Watching information and My Stuff or watchlist information into Disney+. It also notes limits: some content is unavailable in Disney+, and watchlist constraints can affect what appears. Linking should not be advertised as a perfect migration of every title.
The direction of later updates is important. Hulu viewing and My Stuff changes can be reflected in Disney+ under the supported linking experience, but Disney+ changes do not necessarily flow back into Hulu. Do not test it by expecting both apps to become identical.
For a title that fails to appear, use the missing history troubleshooting guide. That guide separates wrong-profile, content-rating, catalogue and sync-direction issues.
Verify the result without risking your history
Open the linked Disney+ profile, check several known titles, and compare their availability and progress with Hulu. Also inspect the account and subscription identity if Disney+ asks you to pay again. A subscription prompt may indicate an account or activation issue rather than a missing profile link.
If the wrong profile was selected or the result is unexpected, read the account’s available controls and contact official support. Do not assume unlinking, deleting and recreating profiles will preserve all data. This guide does not establish a guaranteed rollback for every linking mistake.
If no linking option appears
Work through these checks in order: the correct account email, the plan and exclusions, the profile’s age or kids setting, an up-to-date supported app or the web interface, and any staged availability described by Disney. An ineligible account cannot be made eligible just by clearing an app cache.
If the option still should be available, give Disney support the plan, device, profile type and exact symptom. Do not share a password or verification code. Ask whether the subscription is eligible and where the linking control is available for it.
Common questions
Does linking cancel Hulu? Treat billing and profile linking as separate account tasks. Verify subscription status before making any billing change.
Will everything be identical in both apps? No complete two-way migration is promised by the current guidance. Catalogue and profile limits matter.
Does this mean Hulu is gone? No. See what Disney has actually confirmed about Hulu’s future for the distinction between integration and a verified shutdown date.
