You can schedule a pause from your Hulu account if your subscription is eligible. Before making a change, check who bills you and whether you want a temporary break or a cancellation.
Schedule a Hulu pause
- Open your Hulu Account page in a browser.
- Find Your Subscription, then choose Pause beside Pause Your Subscription.
- Choose a duration, up to 12 weeks, and submit the request.
The pause begins with your next billing cycle. Hulu automatically resumes the subscription afterward and charges the saved payment method. Check the scheduled dates before leaving the page.
If the pause option is missing
Hulu excludes annual plans, accounts on hold, gift-card subscriptions, and promotional subscriptions. Most third-party billing is also excluded; Amazon and Roku are exceptions. An exception does not override the other restrictions. Check your account rather than assuming every Roku-billed plan qualifies.
Pause or cancel?
Cancellation is a separate account action. For direct Hulu billing, choose Cancel under Your Subscription, continue past the pause offer if shown, and complete Cancel Subscription. Keep the confirmation email and verify the account status. Hulu says ordinary canceled subscriptions retain access through the billing cycle; Live TV free trials end immediately.
Changing the plan instead
If you only want a different package, direct Hulu subscribers can use Manage Plan or Manage Add-ons and review the changes. Confirm your billing provider under Payment Information first. Third-party subscribers may need to manage changes with their provider.
